In northeast New Jersey...eastern Bergen...eastern Essex... eastern Passaic...eastern Union...Hudson...western Bergen... western Essex and western Union. In southeast New York... Bronx...Kings (Brooklyn)...New York (Manhattan)...northeastern Suffolk...northern Nassau...northern Queens...northwestern Suffolk...Richmond (staten island)...southeastern Suffolk... southern Nassau...southern Queens...southern Westchester and southwestern Suffolk. * Through this afternoon * a band of intensifying showers and isolated thunderstorms across eastern Pennsylvania will track across the area this morning...exiting eastern Long Island and southeast Connecticut by late morning or early afternoon. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible...with localized higher amounts possible. The main threat is flash flooding of low lying...poor drainage...and urbanized areas. Smaller flashier streams may also flood. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Suffolk County Police To Hold Property Auction

The Suffolk County Police Department Property Section will hold a property auction on October 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Property Section building, located next to Police Headquarters, 30 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank.

Yaphank, NY - October 21st, 2013 - The Suffolk County Police Department Property Section will hold a property auction on October 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Property Section building, located next to Police Headquarters, 30 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank.

Among the items being auctioned are hand and power tools, automotive items, household items, gun scopes and cases, clothing, jewelry/watches, flat screen televisions, bicycles, iPods and electronics. Motor vehicles and motorcycles will not be sold at this auction.

The event will be held rain or shine and all items will be sold in “as is” condition. All purchases are subject to New York State sales tax and payments must be made in cash.

There will be a preview of select items on October 22 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
