In northeast New Jersey...eastern Bergen...eastern Essex...eastern Passaic...eastern Union... Hudson...western Bergen...western Essex...western Passaic and western Union. In southeast New York...Bronx...Kings (Brooklyn)...New York (Manhattan)...northern Nassau...northern Queens...northern Westchester...northwestern Suffolk... Orange...Putnam...Richmond (staten island)...Rockland... southern Nassau...southern Queens...southern Westchester and southwestern Suffolk. * Through Tuesday * heavy rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage this evening into tonight and will continue on Tuesday as several disturbances track along a frontal boundary south of the local area. * Rainfall rates as high as 2 inches per hour are possible...which would cause flash flooding in urban and poor drainage areas. These rainfall rates...and saturated ground from heavy rain over the last 36 hours...could also cause a few flashy streams and small rivers to go over bankfull in northeastern New Jersey...the lower Hudson Valley and southern Connecticut. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Suffolk County Police To Hold Property Auction

Yaphank, NY - October 21st, 2013 - The Suffolk County Police Department Property Section will hold a property auction on October 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Property Section building, located next to Police Headquarters, 30 Yaphank Ave., Yaphank.

Among the items being auctioned are hand and power tools, automotive items, household items, gun scopes and cases, clothing, jewelry/watches, flat screen televisions, bicycles, iPods and electronics. Motor vehicles and motorcycles will not be sold at this auction.

The event will be held rain or shine and all items will be sold in “as is” condition. All purchases are subject to New York State sales tax and payments must be made in cash.

There will be a preview of select items on October 22 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
