Huntington, NY - October 20, 2014 - Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals President Bob Sowers will be accompanied by Miss Harper who was brutally abused, at a press conference Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11am. At that time, he will introduce the loving family that was selected to be Miss Harper's adopters.

The abused puppy was brought to the attention of the Nassau County SPCA in September, 2013 and was the inspiration for the Nassau County SPCA's Animal Cruelty's Stoppers Program. Further, she inspired the Nassau County Legislature to establish an Animal Abuse Registry which will make it a lot harder for convicted abusers to be able to adopt or buy another pet. Bob Sowers states" Miss Harper's life had a horrific start and it is wonderful that it now has a happy ending"
