Woman Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Farmingville

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a woman in Farmingville this morning.

Farmingville, NY - October 20th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a woman in Farmingville this morning.
 
Joseph Pedro was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck, eastbound on Horseblock Road when he was struck by a 1996 Toyota traveling northbound on Old Medford Avenue being driven by Franklyn Martinez at 6:38 a.m. Pedro lost control of his vehicle and hit a 2002 Chevy being driven by Jennifer Colon, who was traveling westbound on Horseblock Road.
 
Colon, 40, of Medford, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Pedro, 16, of Farmingville and Martinez, 23, of Central Islip, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking any witnesses to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
