Freeport, NY - October 17th, 2013 - The Freeport Police Department reports the arrest of a male that occurred in Freeport on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 7:20 am.

According to police, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at approximately 7:30 am defendant Edwin A. Bonilla, 30, no known address, approached a female juvenile on South Main Street and asked the victim for her name and phone number. The defendant grabbed the victim’s hand but she was able to get away.

On Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 6:40 am the defendant put his arm around a female juvenile at the corner of Pine Street and Guy Lombardo Avenue. The victim was able to walk fast and get away.

On Monday, October 7, 2013 at approximately 7:30 am the defendant followed a female juvenile on East Merrick Road and asked her for her name and where she lives as she walked to school.

On Friday, October 11, 2013 at approximately 7:00 am the defendant ran after a female juvenile as she walked to school on Juanita Avenue. The defendant stopped after he saw a school security guard.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at approximately 7:15 am a Freeport Police Officer observed and stopped the defendant following two juvenile females on Pine Street near the Dodd Junior High School that matched a subject wanted in other stalking cases. The defendant was placed into custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
Edwin A. Bonilla was charged with four counts of Stalking 4th Degree, three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and False Personation. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
