New York State and County Health Officials to Announce Preparations for Hospital and Health Workers on Ebola

East Meadow, NY - October 15, 2014 - New York State Senator and Majority Leader Dean Skelos and New York State Health Committee Chair, New York State Senator Kemp Hannon, Senator Jack Martins will join Nassau University Medical Center’s President and CEO, Dr. Victor Politi and the Commissioner of the Nassau County Health Department Larry Eisenstein to announce preparations for hospitals and healthcare workers regarding emerging information about Ebola. Today, Wednesday, October 15 2014 at 2pm at Nassau University Medical Center at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, NY.  

A second health care worker who cared for an Ebola patient at a Dallas hospital has contracted the virus herself.

Local hospitals and clinics are also taking precaution against the possibility of Ebola reaching this area, beginning with a more detailed screening process for patients, but also fully equipping the staff.
