Brentwood Troopers stopped a 2014 Jeep Wrangler on the southbound Robert Moses Causeway Main Span Bridge for failing to maintain lane and for speeding(85 mph).

Brentwood, NY - October 14, 2014 - On 10/12/14 at 3:17 PM, Brentwood Troopers stopped a 2014 Jeep Wrangler on the southbound Robert Moses Causeway Main Span Bridge for failing to maintain lane and for speeding(85 mph).  While interviewing the operator, Patrick Osbern, age 49, of Kings Park NY, troopers noticed obvious signs of intoxication.  Mr. Osbern failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI.  Traveling with Mr. Osbern in the front passenger seat, was his 13 year old son.  Osbern was taken into custody and his son was turned over to his mother.

The defendant was charged with Aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child(A Misd.), and traffic violations.  Mr. Osbern was held for arraignment in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip.
