Hauppauge, NY - October 11, 2016 - Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the country’s largest credit unions, has partnered with Nassau County Museum of Art as the sponsor of “Evening for Educators, a series comprised of three innovative art and education programs for K-12 teachers.
The first event will be held on October 19 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., with subsequent events in November and April. Each program will focus on professional development and the critical role art plays in the classroom and in education. Hundreds of educators and administrators from 50 school districts from across Nassau and Suffolk counties are invited for the sessions that will feature guest speakers, innovative and immersive programs and workshops, and professionally guided educational tours of current museum exhibitions.
On October 19, the session will include a tour of the Feast for the Eyes exhibition and the opportunity for attendees to meet artist Ben Schonzeit. All will receive a Family Pass for a return visit to the museum.
Located in Roslyn, Nassau County Museum of Art rests on 145 pristine acres that originally belonged to poet, lawyer, conservationist, political activist, patron of the arts and preservationist William Cullen Bryant. The historic significance, the atmosphere of the museum and its proactive art education programs for teachers, children and adults make it the ideal setting for the three educator professional development events.
