Man Arrested for DWI After Driving Wrong Way in Medford

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Medford man for driving while intoxicated after he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway last evening.

Medford, NY - October 10th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Medford man for driving while intoxicated after he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway last evening.

Suffolk County Highway Patrol Officer Arthur Puzelli observed a 2010 Honda sedan traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Medford. Vehicles in the eastbound lanes were forced to swerve out of the path of the Honda to avoid collisions.

Warren Levine, 62, was stopped by Officer Puzelli on the entrance ramp of Route 112 in Medford at approximately 10:30 p.m. Levine, of Kane Avenue in Medford, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment and Reckless Driving.

Levine is being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
