New York Environmental Leaders (NYEL) Program Application Period Now Open

The NYSDEC is pleased to announce the launch of the open enrollment period for the NYEL program for eligible businesses and organizations.

Albany, NY - October 7th, 2014 - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Department) is pleased to announce the launch of the open enrollment period for the NYEL program for eligible businesses and organizations. The open enrollment period began on September 1st and applications will be accepted until October 31st.
 
NYEL provides recognition and incentives to New York State companies and organizations that can demonstrate the use of pollution prevention practices, beyond compliance performance, or sustainable business practices as a result of their participation in NYEL.
 
Those accepted as members in NYEL are eligible for a number of benefits, including:
  • Becoming a priority for Department assistance
  • Access to a NYEL contact within the Department to assist with communications between the member and the department
  • Assistance in meeting their environmental goals from the NYS Pollution Prevention Institute 
  • Use of the NYEL logo to promote their green practices and receive recognition for their achievements
  • Get more information on participating in the NYEL program and download an interactive version of the application.
