LIRR Customers Should Allow for Up to 26 Minutes Additional Travel Time.

Port Jefferson, NY - October 1st, 2013 - Bus and van service will replace trains between Huntington and Port Jefferson from 12:30 AM until 3:30 PM on Sunday, October 6 and again on Sunday, October 20 for track work along the Port Jefferson Branch.

Westbound
Customers traveling west will board buses up to 18 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled trains at Port Jefferson, Stony Brook, St. James, Smithtown, King Park, Northport and Greenlawn for travel to Huntington where trains service resumes for points west. The train outage will affect approximately 710 customers.

Eastbound
Customers traveling east will take the train as far as Huntington where they will board buses for stations Greenlawn through Port Jefferson, arriving up to 26 minutes later than normal depending on their destination. This eastbound outage will affect approximately 820 customers.
