Pedestrian Listed in Critical Condition After Being Hit By Van in Deer Park

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Deer Park last night.

Deer Park, NY - September 28, 2016 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Deer Park last night.

Vincente Perez was crossing Bay Shore Road northbound, when he was struck by a 1999 Chevy Van, being driven by Brian Lozano in the westbound lane at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Perez, 37, of Deer Park, was transported by Deer Park Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he is listed in critical condition.  Lozano, 30, of Bay Shore, stayed at the scene and was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
