Nassau County Police Department: Arrest Made in Roosevelt Burglary Case

Roosevelt, NY - September 27th, 2013 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt man for a Burglary that occurred in Roosevelt on September 27, 2013 at 3:25 pm in Roosevelt.
 
According to detectives, First Precinct Officers received a 911 call for a burglary in progress at a vacant house on Dawes Avenue. Upon arrival and after observing an open rear door, officers entered and confronted, Kenneth Barber, 54, of 52 Park Avenue.
 
Barber, who was questioned about his presence in the residence, was found to be carrying a backpack containing a rotary telephone, paper shredder and a box containing a therapeutic massager. Barber, who was also in possession of a wallet containing credit cards in the name of the owner, advised officers that the house belonged to his uncle.
 
A subsequent investigation revealed that Barber did not know or have any relation to the owner of the house and was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Barber is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 09/28/2013.
