NYS Parks is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Great Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular Sail on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Belmont Lake State Park.

North Babylon, NY - September 28, 2016 - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Great Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular Sail on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Belmont Lake State Park. Festivities begin at 3:00PM; the Jack-o’-Lanterns will set sail at approximately 6:00PM.

This event is sponsored by the Natural Heritage Trust and Connoisseur Media Long Island (WALK 97.5, K98.3, 103.1 MAXFM, 94.3 The Shark, 1100 &1370am WHLI). Corporate contributors include North Atlantic Canoe and Kayak, Inc., Adventureland and Long Island Children Museum.

Participation in the Jack-o’-Lantern Spectacular Sail is limited to the first 60 carved pumpkins.

Pumpkins must be between the size of a soccer ball and a basketball and must be dropped off on the day of the event between 10:00am and 2:00pm. In addition, to the Jack-o’-Lantern Sail, there will be a kid friendly spooky house, balloon twisting, arts and crafts, trick or treating, Frankenstein on stilts, games and more. Everyone is welcome to join this spooky celebration.
