Auto Accident in Hempstead Results in Pedestrian Fatality Over the Weekend

The Homicide Squad reports the details of an auto accident, in which a pedestrian was struck, that occurred in Hempstead on Friday, 09/23/16 at 9:20 P.M.

Troy Pittman, of Hempstead, did succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead a day after the incident.

Hempstead, NY - September 26, 2016 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of an auto accident, in which a pedestrian was struck, that occurred in Hempstead on Friday, 09/23/16 at 9:20 P.M.

According to detectives, a 2007 Ford Edge, operated by a male driver, 55, was traveling southbound on Henry St., when he struck a pedestrian in the street.  The driver and his passenger were not injured.

The pedestrian, who sustained a serious head injury, was transported to a local hospital. On Saturday, 09/24/16 at 4:36 P.M., the aided person, Troy Pittman, of Hempstead, did succumb to his injuries and was pronounced by a staff physician.

Detectives report no apparent criminality.  Brake and safety checks of the vehicle were performed at scene.
