Man Arrested For Stealing Three Vehicles and Robbing Two Banks in Five-Day Span

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Northport man for stealing three vehicles and robbing two banks during a five-day span.

Newburgh, NY - September 20th, 2013 - Barry Napolitano stole a 2013 Jeep from a garage at Huntington Jeep, located at 5080 Route 25 in Commack, in the early morning hours of September 12. Four days later, on September 16, at approximately 7 p.m., Napolitano stole a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox from the garage of the home at 860 Fort Salonga Road in Northport and then approximately five hours later, he stole a 2005 American IronHorse motorcycle from the home at 4 Seneca St. in East Northport.
 
Additionally, Napolitano robbed the Chase Bank, located at 120 Main St. in Port Jefferson, on September 12 and the Capital One Bank, located at 64 Main St. in Stony Brook, on September 17.
 
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Force and the New York State Police Violent Felony Warrant Squad, Napolitano was arrested on September 20 in Buffalo and turned over to Suffolk County Police detectives at 11:25 p.m. at the New York State Police Troop T Barracks in Newburgh.
 
Pattern Crime Unit detectives charged Napolitano, 44, of 268 Laurel Road, with two counts of Robbery 3rd Degree for the two bank robberies and Second Squad detectives charged him with Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree in connection to the vehicle thefts. 
 
Napolitano will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 22.
