Pair Arrested for Stolen Credit Card Shopping Spree

Valley Stream, NY - September 18th, 2014 - Crimes Against Property Squad detectives report the arrests of two men for an Grand Larceny that occurred on September 3, 2014 at 3:40 pm in Valley Stream.

According to detectives, Dave Jennings (pictured right), 20, of S. Gate Street, Springfield, NY and Adler Clermont, 21, of 24-217 Lane, Queens Village, while in Sears, 1150 Green Acres Mall, used fraudulent credit cards to purchase store merchandise totaling $934.15.

When store employees became suspicious of the transaction the police were contacted while the defendants were waiting to pick a television at the merchandise pick-up counter.

Upon police arrival Clermont fled the scene while Jennings was being placed under arrest.

A subsequent investigation revealed the identity of Clermont and on September 17, 2014 he surrendered himself to CAP Squad detectives.

Jennings was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. He was previously arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 09/04/14.

Clermont is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, and two (2) counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 09/18/2014.
