Stony Brook, NY - September 15, 2016 - Betting on Zero director, Ted Braun, Talent has Hunger director, Josh Aronson, and Grammy-winning cellist, Paul Katz, will be Tom Needham’s special guests on Thursday’s The Sounds of Film at 6 p.m. on WUSB.

Betting on Zero is a gripping financial documentary from Darfur Now director, Ted Braun, that features controversial hedge-fund titan, Bill Ackman, who is on a crusade to expose global nutritional company Herbalife as the largest pyramid scheme in history. Meanwhile, Herbalife executives claim that Ackman is a market manipulator looking to profit by shorting its stock.  The film also shines a light on working class people who believed that Herbalife could help them achieve the American Dream.
 
Betting on Zero will be screening at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19th at Theatre Three in Historic Port Jefferson Village.  The director, Ted Braun, will be a guest speaker.

Academy Award-Nominated director, Josh Aronson, and acclaimed cellist, Paul Katz, will also be on the Sounds of Film discussing their film Talent Has Hunger.  The film is about the power of music to consume, enhance, and propel lives.  Filmed over seven years, the film provides a window into the unique world of the artist at Paul Katz’s New England Conservatory studio. It examines the passion that can sustain a young artist through years of sacrifice and dedication and reveals the difficult choices a musician faces when they have to select a career path.
 
Josh Aronson was nominated for an Academy Award for his film Sound and Fury. He is also well-known for Showtime’s Opposite Sex: Rene's Story and The Opposite Sex: Jamie's Story. In 2004, he directed the feature documentary Bull Rider. Between 2010 and 2012 he traveled around the world making Orchestra of Exiles, his film about Bronislaw Hubberman.
 
Paul Katz has taught at the New England Conservatory since 2001. He is also the winner of several Grammy awards for his work with the Cleveland Quartet.
