Port Jefferson, NY - September 13th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a Chase bank branch in Port Jefferson this afternoon.

A man entered the bank, located at 120 Main St., at approximately 1 p.m., approached a teller and threatened to harm someone if he did not receive cash.  The teller complied with the demand and gave the suspect cash from the drawer and the man fled.

The robber is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 40 and 45 years old, with a medium-build and short dark hair.  He was wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.
