Four Arrested in Overnight Sobriety Test in Huntington Station

Suffolk County Police today arrested four people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station.

Huntington Station, NY - September 6, 2014 - Suffolk County Police today arrested four people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station.

Through the coordinated efforts of the First, Second and Third Precincts along with the Highway Patrol Bureau, four motorists were arrested at a sobriety checkpoint conducted on New York Avenue and Church Street from 1:40 a.m. - 3:40 a.m.

The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:

David Cava, 42, of Huntington
Vanessa [Redacted], 27, of Wheatley Heights

The following people were charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol:

Joseph Palazzo, 40, of New Hyde Park
Ariel Shada, 43, of East Patchogue

The above individuals are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 6.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
