One Man Killed, One Injured in Wyandanch Shooting

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another in Wyandanch last night.

Malik Stoddart, 18, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wyandanch, NY - September 5, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another in Wyandanch last night.

A group of people were standing on Irving Avenue near Doe Street when shots were fired at approximately 11:25 p.m. When police arrived, they discovered two shooting victims, Malik Stoddart and a 19-year-old male, in the street. Stoddart, 18, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The 19-year-old was transported to a local hospital by Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. with non-life-threatening injuries.
