William Floyd Board of Education President Robert Vecchio receives and award from Superintendent Paul Casciano.

MASTIC BEACH, NY, September 3, 2013 – At the August 27, 2013 Board of Education meeting, William Floyd Superintendent Paul Casciano presented Robert Vecchio, President of the William Floyd Board of Education, with the New York State School Board Association (NYSSBA) Level I Board Achievement Award. The award, earned through the School Board U recognition program, acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their knowledge and skills for better board governance.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by this great organization,” said Mr. Vecchio. “I am proud to be a member of NYSSBA who are strong advocates for public education and students throughout New York State.”

Mr. Vecchio, a 21-year resident of the William Floyd School District, just completed his tenth year of board service (2003). He has served as president of the Board of Education since 2005 and has provided strong board leadership throughout his tenure. He resides in Shirley, NY.
