"Flash Flood Watch" ...Flash Flood Watch in effect from midnight EDT tonight through Monday morning... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following areas, in northeast New Jersey, eastern Bergen, eastern Essex, eastern Passaic, eastern Union, Hudson, western Bergen, western Essex, western Passaic, and western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), New York (manhattan), northern Nassau, northern Queens, northwestern Suffolk, Orange, Richmond (staten island), Rockland, southern Nassau, southern Queens, southern Westchester, and southwestern Suffolk. * From midnight EDT tonight through Monday morning * an area of low pressure will develop along a frontal boundary to our south and pass just south and east of Long Island. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour are possible and may lead to flash flooding the New York City Metro and surrounding areas. Flash flooding will also be possible for portions of the lower Hudson Valley. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Franklin Square Man Arrested for Stealing Over $35k in Copper Wires from Job

Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of a Franklin Square man for burglary and grand larceny that occurred in Massapequa beginning 07/19/14 through 08/14/14.

Massapequa, NY - September 2nd, 2014 - Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of a Franklin Square man for burglary and grand larceny that occurred in Massapequa beginning 07/19/14 through 08/14/14.

According to detectives, Andrew Walsh, 27, of Dogwood Ave., while employed as an electrician for an electrical company in Massapequa, removed copper wires and fuses valued at approximately $35,000, from his place of employment.

Seventh Squad detectives located and arrested Walsh on Monday, 09/01/14 in East Rockaway.  He is being charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday, 09/02/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
