Stony Brook, NY - September 1, 2016 - Don't Breathe and Evil Dead composer Roque Banos will Tom Needham's special guest this Thursday at 6 P.M. on The Sounds of Film on WUSB.

Roque Banos has created one of Hollywood's most unique scores of the year.  For Don't Breathe, Roque incorporated the sounds of household objects performed by the avant-garde Anarchestra, known for playing unusual instruments, into the score.  He traveled to their studio in Tucson Arizona to record the sounds.

The film was critically-acclaimed at SXSW when an early preview was shown. Don't Breathe is currently in theaters.  Banos' previously collaborated with director Fede Alvarado for Evil Dead (2013), which earned him two International Film Music Critics Awards.

Roque is a talented classical composer who likes to incorporate “sounds of the setting” into his work.  For In The Heart of The Sea, he used the sounds of sail cloths and anchor chains as musical instruments. Last year, Baños composed two critically acclaimed scores for the films In The Heart of The Sea and Risen.  This week's Sounds of Film will feature the music of Roque Banos.
