Two Women Rescued After Jet Ski Accident in Reynolds Channel

Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department for treatment of their injuries and are listed in critical condition.

Island Park, NY - August 30, 2016 - The Fourth Squad reports the details of a Jet Ski accident that occurred on August 29, 2016 at 7:00 pm in Island Park.

According to detectives, two females, 24 and 29 were traveling eastbound in Reynolds Channel on a 2009 Yamaha jet ski when they collided with the Long Island Railroad Bridge, west of the Long Beach Bridge. The collision caused both victims to fall in the water unconscious. 

A father and son fishing nearby witnessed the accident, went into the water and with assistance from a couple on another unrelated jet ski brought the victims to shore.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department for treatment of their injuries and are listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
