Long Island...most of northeast New Jersey...and coastal portions of the lower Hudson Valley and Fairfield County. * Accumulations...snow accumulation of 2 to 6 inches...along with up to around a tenth of an inch of ice. * Visibilities...1/4 to 1/2 miles at times. * Timing...snow develops beginning late Sunday morning over western portions of the tri-state...then expands over the remainder of the advisory area Sunday afternoon. The snow will mix with or change to freezing rain across New York City... Long Island...most of northeast New Jersey...and coastal portions of the lower Hudson Valley and Fairfield County Sunday evening. The precipitation will taper off from west to east after midnight Sunday night. * Impacts...snow covered surfaces...coated with ice in areas... will make traveling difficult at times. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Travel Advisory: Temporary Road Closure of North Ocean Avenue in Farmingville

The road will be closed from 7 PM to 11 PM.

Farmingville, NY - August 29, 2014 - Suffolk County Police are advising motorists of a road closure in the Sixth Precinct Saturday, August 30. County Road 83 (North Ocean Avenue) will be closed in both directions between Route 25 and Granny Road between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. due to a concert and fireworks at Bald Hill. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
