With daytime mixing and northwest flow...dewpoints will lower into the 20s and upper teens as temperatures rise into the 60s. The resulting relative humidity values will drop to 15 to 30 percent this afternoon into the early evening. The wind speeds will be generally 10 to 15 mph on average with gusts up to 20 mph and occasionally up to 25 mph. Nassau County Police Department Joins STOP-DWI Initiative

Nassau County Police Department will participate in the New York State STOP-DWI grant program.

Nassau County, New York - August 28, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Nassau County Police Acting Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter announce that the Nassau County Police Department will participate in the New York State STOP-DWI grant program and will also deploy the DWI Alcohol Related Incident Team aimed at adding additional patrols for the up-coming Labor Day Weekend.  

The Nassau County Police Department’s Highway Patrol Bureau will coordinate and plan an effective DWI saturation enforcement strategy targeting areas throughout Nassau County.

The Nassau County Police Department will be utilizing the additional personnel in conjunction with the usual complement of police officers on patrol to aggressively apprehend DWI offenders this holiday weekend.
