"Coastal Flood Warning" ...Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from 7 PM to 11 PM EST this evening... * locations...low lying areas along western Long Island Sound. * Tidal departures...3 1/2 to 4 1/2 ft above astronomical tides in the evening. * Timing...moderate coastal flooding around the times of astronomical high tide...between 7 PM and 11 PM. * Coastal flood impacts...potential for widespread flooding of vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties due to height of storm tide and wave action. Inundation of 1 to 2 ft in the lowest lying spots. Road closures may be needed. Isolated structural damage may be observed along the immediate shoreline. * Shoreline impacts...elevated water levels in combination with 3 to 5 ft of surf are expected to cause beach erosion and splashover along the shoreline this evening. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is expected or occurring. Mangano Announces NASH FM’s Last Summer Bash at Lakeside Theatre

East Meadow, NY - August 25, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that Nassau County will host NASH FM’s Last Summer Bash at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park on Saturday, September 6th. The free family event, sponsored by NASH FM, will be headlined by season 4 winner of The Voice Danielle Bradbury, along with John King, and Maddie and Tae. The gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
 
Join the NASH dancersin the afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m. for some line dancing, food and fun activities! The first 100 NASH listeners to show up will receive a NASH “jump the line” t-shirt and get to sit in the NASH fan section. Wear the shirt and you could be chosen to go backstage to meet the artists!
 
Much of the programming at the Lakeside Theatre is made possible through the Nassau County Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which are proceeds from taxes on hotel and motel rooms in Nassau County. Since 2006, Nassau County has received more than ten million dollars from the Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which also has assisted in historic building restoration and other cultural enhancements.
 
The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is an outdoor theatre located within Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. Conveniently located near parking fields 6 and 6A, the theatre provides a venue for a full schedule of entertainment events during the summer. There is no formal seating at Lakeside, so concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets. Special accommodations are available for persons with disabilities, including reserved parking, accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill.
