The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for West Central Suffolk County between the hours of 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM. With more than two inches of rain having already fallen, flash flooding is expected to occur as thunderstorms continue.

Locations that are expected to experience significant flooding are Huntington, Huntington Bay, Commack, Stony Brook, Centereach, Hauppauge, Smithtown, Centerport, Cold Spring Harbor, Farmingville, Lake Grove, Nissequogue, Old Field, Asharoken, St. James, and East Northport.

The National Weather Service advises all individuals in the warned area to seek higher ground immediately, especially those living near bodies of water.
