Mount Sinai, NY - August 20, 2015 - On Sunday, August 16th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Mount Sinai community in supporting one of its most valued residents, Ursula Costanzo. Ursula recently suffered a stroke that came without warning, and she continues to battle its effects. An integral part of her community, Ursula has been an active member in Mt. Sinai’s Parent Teacher Organization as well as Friends of the Arts, and Mt. Sinai’s local Boy Scout troop.

The event, “Rock the Range for Ursula,” was held at the Willow Creek Golf and Country Club in Mount Sinai, in an effort to raise funds for Ursula’s increasing medical expenses. Activities included live music performances, a BBQ buffet, raffle prizes, hair styling, face painting, express manicures for kids and more.

“I am blessed to be a member of such a caring community,” said Legislator Anker. “It is heartwarming to see residents come together to support someone who has given so much to our community.”

While the event was a success, Ursula’s friends and family continue to raise funds for her medical bills and expenses. To donate to a GoFundMe campaign to support Ursula and her family, visit here.
