Horsley Visits Suffolk Veterans Agency With WW II Veteran

Hauppauge, New York - August 20, 2013 - Suffolk County Legislator Wayne R. Horsley recently had the honor and privilege to meet with Rocco Morabito, a distinguished World War II Veteran from Lindenhurst
 
Mr. Morabito served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was aboard the USS Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay, when the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed on September 2, 1945. US Seaman Rocco Morabito was awarded the American Theater Medal, the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. 
 
Legislator Horsley assisted Mr. Morabito in obtaining his Veterans Identification card from the county. The Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency offers a discount card which can be used at local businesses who participate in the program. In order to obtain an ID card, bring your DD214 and your driver’s license to their offices on the 3rd floor of the Dennison building located at 100 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge.
