The National Weather Service in New York has issued a dense fog advisory...which is in effect until 7 PM EST this evening. * Locations...Queens...Nassau...and Suffolk counties. * Hazards...dense fog. * Visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times. * Timing...through 700 PM EST this evening. * Impacts...reduced visibilities...making travel hazardous. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving...slow down...use your low beam headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed. , "Special Statement" ...Widespread fog...locally dense at times...through this afternoon across Long Island... Fog will continue across Long Island through this afternoon and possibly into early this evening. Visibilities will be frequently 1/2 to 1 1/2 statute miles...and at times a quarter mile or less...especially along the South Shore of Long Island. Visibilities will improve with a wind shift to the southwest late this afternoon into early this evening. Motorists should be on the look out for rapidly changing visibilities. NCPD: Woman Arrested for Assault in Levittown

Defendant allegedly violated a restraining order, assaulted a victim and police officers, and made verbal threats against officers.

Levittown, NY - August 16, 2014 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown woman for Assault that occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 8:50 a.m. in Levittown.
 
According to detectives, Second Precinct Officers responded to Ponder Lane for two people fighting. The investigation determined that the defendant Theresa A. Signoriello 25, of 5 Ponder Lane had assaulted a 24 year old female. As the officers attempted to place Signoriello under arrest she began to flail her arms refusing to allow officers to handcuff her. After securing the defendant she continued to resist arrest by kicking at the officers and refusing to walk. She lifted both legs while being escorted to the patrol car causing her to fall face down. The officers were forced to lift the defendant by her legs and arms to carry her to the car. While placing her in the patrol car Signoriello spit in an officer’s face, as well as kicking him in the legs and biting his hand causing a laceration to his fingers.  The officer was treated and released from a local hospital. The defendant was treated for minor scratches to her chin. The female victim has a valid order of protection against the defendant which she violated. During arrest processing Signoriello made verbal threats towards the arresting officers.
 
Signoriello is charged with Assault 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree. She will be arraigned on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
