Nassau Bar Association Promotes High School Discussion of 225th Anniversary of US Constitution
Mineola, NY - August 14, 2017 - September 17, 2017 marks the 225th anniversary of United States Constitution signed by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, and subsequently ratified by a majority of the 13 U.S. states. Throughout the month of September, Nassau County Bar Association volunteer attorneys will be available to discuss the birth of our democratic nation with high school students throughout Nassau County.
"The Constitution is the very foundation of America's democracy and freedoms through the rule of law," said Nassau County Bar Association President Steven G. Leventhal. "NCBA attorneys are dedicated to serve the public as well as the profession. NCBA takes pride in inspiring respect for the law and the governing principles of our democracy. Our Speakers Bureau is an effective way to serve the public as well as the legal profession.
Each year NCBA's free Speakers Bureau receives dozens of requests from the community for attorneys to speak about the law. Attorneys generously volunteer their time to go out to speak on a variety of legal issues to a diverse group of audiences: high school classes, libraries, senior centers, business associations, community organizations and at community fairs.
