Man Arrested for Stealing 800 Pounds of Used Cooking from Two Huntington Businesses

Suffolk County Police today arrested a Staten Island man for stealing used cooking oil from two Huntington businesses this morning.

Huntington, NY - August 14, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Staten Island man for stealing used cooking oil from two Huntington businesses this morning.

Second Precinct Police Officers Daniel Denig and John McAleavey were on patrol when they observed a man stealing approximately 800 pounds of used cooking oil from a holding container in the rear of 821 New York Ave. at approximately 6 a.m. New York Pizza and New China Restaurant deposit their used cooking oil in the container, which is owned by Darling International, a New Jersey based recycling company.

The man, who was identified as Joskey Henry, was arrested. Henry, 36, of Staten Island, was charged with one count of Petit Larceny.

Henry’s vehicle was impounded. The investigation is continuing.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
