Malverne, NY - August 14, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano in partnership with New York State Assemblyman Brian Curran, Senior Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony Santino, and Malverne Mayor Patricia McDonald will host a Free Kids Health Day Event on Saturday September 6th from 12 - 3p.m. at Crossroads Farm at Grossmans located at 480 Hempstead Avenue in Malverne.

It is important to promote healthy, fun, and exciting activities for young children to engage in, so they can learn and enjoy healthy habits at an early age in their lives. In support of keeping our children healthy all residents are invited to come with their families to participate in a day filled with healthy cooking classes, juicing stations, hula hoop classes, yoga classes, dental screenings, vision screenings, grow your own herb garden stations, jump rope tournaments, family hip-hop sessions, a child ID program, yogurt stations, and pony rides.

“This Kids Health Day is a great opportunity for parents to get their children involved in healthy and fun activities while learning how to lead a healthy lifestyle,” said County Executive Mangano. “I urge residents to attend the Health Event and spread the word of wellness through exercise, sports, good nutrition and regular medical screenings. With your help we can create a healthier Nassau County.”

The event is co-sponsored by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Coastal Advisors LLC Insurance Consultants, CEO Richard “Big Daddy” Salgado and givethankswalk.org. For more information, please contact Assemblyman Brian Curran’s district office at (516) 561-8216.
