"Heat Advisory" ...Heat advisory in effect from 11 am to 6 PM EDT Monday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a heat advisory...which is in effect from 11 am to 6 PM EDT Monday. * Heat index values...up to 101 due to temperatures in the low to mid 90s and dewpoints in the lower 70s. * Timing...highest heat indices Monday afternoon. * Impacts...the combination of the heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat related health issues...especially for the elderly...those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease...those working outdoors...and other heat sensitive groups of people. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 100 to 104 degrees for two consecutive hours. To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. SCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Using Stolen Credit Cards for Deer Park Shopping Spree

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used stolen credit cards at multiple locations.

Cold Spring Harbor, NY - August 13th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used stolen credit cards at multiple locations.

A woman lost her wallet in Cold Spring Harbor on May 28, 2014, and an unknown man subsequently used credit cards that were in the wallet to make a total of five purchases at Tanger Outlets and Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Deer Park.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
