Middle Island, NY, August 2013 – Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recognized Eagle Scout recipient Gregory Egan at his Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, August 11th. The ceremony took place at the Middle Island Fire Department with troop leaders and members of Gregory’s Boy Scout Troop 433 present.
“Gregory has proven to be an outstanding leader within our community,” said Legislator Anker. “I would like to congratulate him on achieving Eagle Scout and thank him for creating such a wonderful project that benefits our neighborhood.”
For his Eagle Project, Gregory constructed and installed a sign and bulletin board at the trail head at Bartlett Pond Park in Middle Island. The structure will provide a permanently enclosed weather proof area, displaying a map of the nature trail and an area to post community news.
