The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Saturday. * Locations...southeast New York...northeast New Jersey and southern Connecticut. * Hazards...strong winds. * Winds...northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph. * Timing...tonight into Saturday afternoon. * Impacts...the strong winds may down some tree limbs and power lines...and make driving high profile vehicles difficult...especially on elevated roadways and bridges. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a West Hempstead man for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in West Hempstead on Saturday, August 9, 2014 ...

West Hempstead, NY - August 10th, 2014 - According to detectives, a Lojack alarm system directed Fourth Precinct Police Officers to 440 Forest Place for a possible stolen 2008 Nissan. Upon police arrival, the defendant Pedro Arguinzoni, 39, of 440 Forest Place was observed in the driveway removing the dashboard from a 2008 Nissan. An investigation determined the auto was stolen and the defendant was placed into police custody without incident. The vehicle along with two other vehicles at the location were impounded for further investigation.

Pedro Arguinzoni is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Illegal Possession of Vehicle ID, and Auto Stripping. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, August 10, 2014.
