Glen Head Man Arrested for Stealing Thousands of Dollars Worth of Copper Wire

Hicksville, NY - August 8, 2014 - Second Squad detectives report the arrest of a Glen Head man for a Larceny that occurred on August 6, 2014 at 4:00 pm in Hicksville.
 
According to detectives, Michael Jayne, 31, of 11 Sycamore Avenue, a subcontracted employee of Asplundh for PSEG, submitted a false inventory materials request for 300 feet of copper wire to the warehouse supervisor at the Hicksville PSEG Yard located at 175 E. Old Country Road. After obtaining the wire, that was valued at $4,874.00, Jayne brought it to a scrap yard where it was sold for scrap.
 
On August 7, 2014, at the Hicksville PSEG Yard, Jayne was located and placed under arrest without incident.
 
The defendant is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 08/08/14.
