SCPD Crime Alert: Man Shot in Huntington Station

Huntington Station, NY - August 7th, 2014 - Second Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Huntington Station last night.

Sheldon Leftenant was standing in front of his residence at 7 Tippin Drive when two vehicles drove by and someone fired a gun at the group. The bullet struck Leftenant in the groin.

Leftenant, 23, was transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later transported to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where he is undergoing surgery.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
