LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.

How can anyone resist that sweet kitten face, aka: Bambi. This adorable little beauty was born in April 2016.  She was rescued with her sister, Thumper, and after being home fostered and vetted, she is more than ready to find her Forever home!  She is friendly and cuddly, full of love and purrs.  Will you be the one to give a happy ending to her story?  For more information on adopting Bambi (and maybe her sister too) check out Bambi's webpage.

Elise is the little darlin' pictured above who comes to Last Hope Animal Rescue from Kentucky. She is one of 20 mistreated dogs stuffed in a car trunk while her cruel owner tried to sell her for drug money. Not that you could ever tell that Elise comes from such a rough start- Elise a loving, super sweet dog who is quite happy to be on Long Island and ready to find a great home with owners who will love her unconditionally.  For more information about Elise, check out her webpage.

Looking to adopt an angel? Sequoia is your girl. This gorgeous, kind, loving lady is 5 years old, 50 pounds, and came into the Town of Hempstead Animal shelter as a stray, in terrible shape. She had open sores and irritated skin, and was underweight. Thankfully, their amazing medical team has been taking great care of her, and she is healing day by day. Sequoia is absolutely gorgeous, and has a personality to match! She is friendly with all people, although shy at first meeting, and likes other dogs! Right now she is being recommended for a home with kids 17 and up because she is still a little nervous at the shelter- but once she settles into her forever home, she will blossom into the most amazing, loyal, grateful companion you could ever imagine. Please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or come visit the shelter at: 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793.

As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop...pass it on!
