Farmingdale, NY - August 3, 2014 - This week, a furious effort to organize a fundraiser for 3-year-old Bryant Hennessy is underway. Former Farmingdale resident, and Farmingdale High School Class of ’97 alumni Jeffrey Hennessy, discovered on Monday, April 21, 2014 that his son had developed Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Immediately following the diagnosis, the outpouring of love and support from his current and former communities led to the “Brave For Bryant” movement, which has shown the Hennessy family that their family and friends, both new and old, would stand behind them through thick and thin. As a result of the Brave For Bryant movement, former classmates Erick Mauro and his wife Jennifer, owners of Creative Games Inc., a Hicksville based Event Company, have donated a carnival and are organizing a Brave For Bryant Day on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 12pm-4pm at Allen Park (45 Motor Avenue, Farmingdale, NY).
Jeffrey, his wife Carolyn and their two sons, Chase and Bryant currently reside in the Richmond, Virginia area. Jeffrey Hennessy said, “Due to the care involved in Bryant’s illness, two incomes have been reduced to one and the financial strain of the disease has become more apparent every day. The Hennessy family is grateful for the outpouring of support, which has allowed them to focus on battling Bryant’s cancer and not the financial burden. All proceeds from the fundraiser will directly go towards Bryant’s treatment. The event will be free for families to attend, but donations are appreciated and encouraged. Donations, a Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffles and sponsorships will be the primary method of fundraising. The event will feature:
  • Water slide, carnival games, inflatables, tubs of fun, kiddie swing, half moon, black ops obstacle course
  • Door prizes, Chinese auction, 50/50 raffles
