Crime Report: Farmingville Bank Robbery; Fatal Stabbing in Central Islip

Police are searching for a man that robbed a People’s United Bank; a man died after a stabbing in Central Islip.

Farmingville Bank Robbery
Suffolk County Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a People’s United Bank on Friday afternoon in Farmingville.

Around 2:30 p.m., a man entered the bank – which is located in a Stop and Shop on North Ocean Ave. – and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied, handing him money from the cash drawer. The man then fled the scene.

Police have not identified the name of the suspect. He is being described as a white male, around 6 feet 1 inches tall, lean to medium build with facial hair and a fair complexion. He was wearing a baseball hat, dark clothes and sneakers at the time of the robbery.

Fatal Stabbing in Central Islip
A Bay Shore man was killed early Saturday morning in the parking lot of a bar in Central Islip. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is currently investigating the murder.

According to Suffolk County Police, officers responded to a 911 call at El Tenampa around 2:15 a.m. When they arrived, 23-year-old Jose Amadeo Carbajao-Alverado was lying on the ground with a stab wound to his chest.

Carbajao-Alverado was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. Police have not identified a suspect.
