NCPD reports the arrest of Kevin Arenas of West Hempstead, 23, in connection with a robbery that occurred in Garden City Park on Wednesday, 7/5.

Hauppauge, NY - August 2nd, 2017 - Major Case Bureau detectives from the Robbery Squad report the arrest of Kevin Arenas, 23, of West Hempstead in connection with a robbery that occurred in Garden City Park on Wednesday, 07/05/17 at 11:15 A.M.
 
According to Robbery Squad detectives, Arenas, armed with a knife, entered Twin Parks Pharmacy located at 2226 Jericho Tpke., approached the pharmacist, and demanded OxyContin. The victim complied and the subject fled the scene with an undetermined amount of prescription pills.
 
There was one additional employee present in the pharmacy at the time of the robbery. No customers were in the store. No injuries were reported.
 
A subsequent investigation led detectives to the identity of Arenas and as a result he surrendered himself on 8/1/2017.
 
Arenas is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 8/2/2017.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
