Hauppauge, NY - August 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a woman in Hauppauge, New York, on Monday, July 31, 2017 at approximately 1 a.m.
 
Tiffany Aguiar was driving a vehicle eastbound on the Long Island Expressway, exiting at exit 56, when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail and a pole at approximately 1 a.m.
 
Aguiar, 23, of Patchogue, New York was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
