The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a dense fog advisory, which is in effect until 11 am EST this morning. * Visibilities...one quarter mile or less. * Timing...until 11 a.M. * Impacts...hazardous driving conditions due to reduce visibility. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving...slow down...use your low beam headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed. 12 , "Special Statement" ...Areas of dense fog tonight... South winds continue to transport unusually mild and moist air north across the area as high pressure moves out to sea. Areas of fog will continue developing and become locally dense, restricting visibilities to 1/4 mile or less mainly from New York City north and east across southern Connecticut and Long Island. This fog is forecast to persist through Saturday morning. Motorists should be alert while driving into rapidly reduced visibilities. Woman Wanted for Destroying Display at Middle Island Smoke Shop

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman responsible for damage at a Middle Island smoke shop in March.

Middle Island, NY - August 1st, 2014 -  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman responsible for damage at a Middle Island smoke shop in March.

Several people entered Gotham Smoke Shop, located at 1271 Middle Country Road, on March 15 at approximately 8:50 p.m. They began fighting and one female knocked over a display case and damaged several items.   

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
