"Dense Fog Advisory, High Wind Watch" ...Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST Sunday... ...High wind watch remains in effect from late Sunday night through late Monday night... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a dense fog advisory...which is in effect until 10 am EST Sunday. * Dense fog...visibilities dropping to one quarter mile or less. * Dense fog timing...into Sunday morning. * Dense fog impacts...significantly reduced visibilities will make travel difficult. * High winds...northeast 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * High wind timing...strongest winds will likely occur from mid morning Monday into Monday evening. * High wind impacts...damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Limited visibilities will make travel very difficult. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of 58 mph or higher... may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving...slow down...use your low beam headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed. , "Marine Fog Advisory, Storm Warning" ...Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST Sunday... ...Storm Warning remains in effect from 1 am Monday to 1 am EST Tuesday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a dense fog advisory...which is in effect until 10 am EST Sunday. * Winds and seas...east winds 35 to 45 kt with gusts 50 to 55 kt. Seas 7 to 11 feet...and as high as 9 to 12 feet east of Orient Point. * Visibility...1 nm or less through early Sunday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Storm Warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 48 to 63 kt are expected or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in port...or take shelter until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should prepare for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions...and consider remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds and waves subside. A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one mile. Governor Cuomo Announces Jobs Express Website Tops 100,000 Available Positions

Businesses Have Filled Thousands of Jobs by Using Jobs Express.

Albany, NY - July 30, 2014 - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that more than 100,000 available jobs are now listed on the Jobs Express website (www.jobs.ny.gov). The site sorts thousands of jobs by region and occupation, and also allows users to search jobs based on zip code and travel distance.

“Every day more and more employers are listing their job openings on Jobs Express to find skilled workers required to successfully grow their businesses,” Governor Cuomo said. “With thousands of job openings listed in every region of the state, this site makes it easy for job seekers to connect with employers, helping to put people back to work and growing our economy.”

New businesses and job listings are added to the Jobs Express site every day. In May 2014, there was a 17 percent increase in total job listings with more than 7,100 businesses posting a new job order. Businesses using the site fulfilled more than 62,000 job orders in May 2014.

The occupational categories with the most jobs listed in May 2014 included: Sales, Clerical, Management, Computer/Mathematical and Business/Financial Operations.

More than 68,000 unique website visitors visited Jobs Express in May.

“The service Jobs Express provides is critical to hiring a strong and sustainable workforce,” said State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera. “Every day, more businesses are using the site because they know it’s the best way to find the best candidates for the best price – zero.”
