The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a coastal Flood Advisory...which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 2 am EDT Saturday. * Locations...along western Long Island Sound. * Tidal departures...around 1 feet above astronomical tide heights. * Timing...around the times of high tide between 10 PM and 2 am tonight. * Impacts...minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or properties due to height of storm tide or wave splashover. Majority of roads remain passable with only isolated closures. There is no significant threat to life and any impact on property is minimal. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Suspect Wanted for Roosevelt Robbery

The First Squad reports the details of a Burglary which occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 5:26 P.M. in Roosevelt.

Roosevelt, NY - July 30th, 2014 - The First Squad reports the details of a Burglary which occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 5:26 P.M. in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, a male victim, 36, and a female, 39, were sleeping in a rear bedroom of an E. Roosevelt Avenue home when an unknown male black suspect kicked in his door and discharged one round from a handgun. The male victim attempted to tackle the suspect at which time the suspect struck him in the head with the gun. The victim suffered a laceration to the head. The suspect fled on foot eastbound on E. Roosevelt Avenue.
