The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Winter Storm Watch...which is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. * Locations...southern Connecticut...Long Island...New York City...southern Westchester...and portions of northeast New Jersey. * Hazard types...snow...sleet and freezing rain this evening... then heavy snow Wednesday night into Thursday. * Accumulations...snow accumulation around 2 inches this evening...along with a trace of ice...then 4 to 8 inches Wednesday night into Thursday. * Timing...snow develops late this afternoon...then mixes with sleet and freezing rain early this evening before changing to rain. The rain...mixes with or changes to snow and sleet Wednesday evening...before changing to all snow around or shortly after midnight Wednesday night. The snow should taper off Thursday afternoon. * Impacts...snow covered surfaces...coated with ice...will make traveling difficult at times. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving. A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Uniondale Man Arrested for Stealing Over $2k from Seaford Grocery Store

The Seventh Squad reports the details of an arrest for Grand Larceny that occurred in Seaford on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 11:35 A.M.

Seaford, NY - July 28th, 2014 - The Seventh Squad reports the details of an arrest for Grand Larceny that occurred in Seaford on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 11:35 A.M.

According to detectives, the defendant Andre Christmas, 57, of Pembroke Street, Uniondale was observed on Saturday, July 26, 2014, removing merchandise valued over twenty-four hundred dollars from Pathmark, 4055 Merrick Road and fled scene. On Sunday, July 27, 2014, while at Pathmark investigating the previous day’s incident, detectives were notified the defendant returned and attempted to remove merchandise valued over one thousand dollars.  The defendant fled the store and entered a taxi which was stopped by detectives.  The defendant, Andre Christmas was placed under arrest without incident.

Upon further investigation the defendant was also charged with two incidents that occurred on July 9, 2014 at Stop and Shop, 350 West Old Country Road, Hicksville and on July 20, 2014 at Pathmark, 3901 Hempstead Turnpike, Bethpage.

The defendant, Andre Christmas is charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree and two counts of Petit Larceny and will be arraigned on Monday, July 28, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
