William Floyd Teachers Promote Summer Literacy at Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library

In an effort to keep children excited about literacy during the summer break, William Floyd teachers, in collaboration with the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, are offering the “Teachers’ Story Corner” Friday mornings through August 14.

Mastic Beach, NY - July 22, 2015 - In an effort to keep children excited about literacy during the summer break, William Floyd teachers, in collaboration with the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, are offering the “Teachers’ Story Corner” Friday mornings through August 14. The program takes place in the Library’s Children’s Department floor from 10 am to 11:30 am and all pages read count toward completion of summer reading clubs. Additionally, teachers and librarians also work with parents and children to help select age-appropriate books for reading at home. The events are free and all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The remaining dates are July 24, July 31, August 7 and August 14. For more information please contact Wendy Gross on email.
