Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued two men from a sinking boat in Long Island Sound this afternoon.

Port Jefferson, NY - July 22nd, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued two men from a sinking boat in Long Island Sound this afternoon.

Marine Bureau Officers James Comstock and Joseph Devlin were on patrol aboard Marine Delta when they heard a distress call come over the VHF radio. The officers located the boat, a 16-foot Bayliner, which was half submerged in the water, and two occupants approximately one and a half miles off shore. The officers brought the occupants, Dan Antino and Brian Gulino, on board Marine Delta and towed the boat to Port Jefferson Harbor.

Antino, 28, of 63 Adams Ave, Sound Beach, and Gulino, 26, of Coram, who had been fishing when the boat began to sink, were both wearing life jackets.
